Wine & Dine offers gourmet experience for morel lovers at the Beach House restaurant on Friday, May 15, 2015

EVENT DETAILS - You are cordially invited to attend the 9th Annual Morelfest "Wine & Dine" at the Beach House Restaurant at Boyne Mountain (439 E. Deer Lake Road - Directions) with two seatings at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015. (The 5:30 p.m. seating has 4 seats remaining; call 231-582-6222. The 8 p.m. seating is nearly sold out.) This event is one of the highlights of the Boyne City Morel Mushroom Festival, held annually on the weekend after Mother's Day. Guests will be treated to live entertainment and gourmet hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Beach House paired with fine wines from Bayside Beverage. Below is the 2015 menu with wine pairings:

Beach House

  • Station 1 - Morel Ragout Crostini: Sautéed morels, caramelized ramps, Boursin cheese, fresh thyme and a hint of sherry wine. Wine Pairing: M. Lawrence US Sparkling Brut, Michigan
  • Station 2 - Homemade morel and ricotta cheese pierogi with an applewood smoked bacon sour cream. Wine Pairing: Anew Riesling, Washington.
  • Station 3 - Asparagus and morel risotto with pancetta cracklings, cracked black pepper and shaved parmesan.Wine Pairing: Santa Cristina Toscana Rosso, Italy.
  • Station 4 - Morel, leek and cheddar stuffed pork loin with a smoked tomato bisque sauce. Wine Pairing: Cupcake Merlot. Charles & Charles Rose, Washington.
  • Station 5 - Grilled shrimp and morel soup shooters.Wine Pairing: Cambria Chardonnay, Santa Maria Valley, California.
  • Dessert Station - Assorted Petit Fours

Admission is $45 per person, including tax and gratuity. Sponsors of this gourmet event are the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce, Boyne Mountain and Bayside Beverage.
