    Job Description

    Boyne City Public Schools is looking for a Custodial Cleaner.
    This position is for 40 hours/week for the afternoon shift (building placement yet to be determined). The position includes full family benefits if needed.

    1. A consistent work ethic, ability to work as a team player, and as an individual at different times.  

    2. Ability to communicate with others, informing them of changing situations and asking questions when situations arise that you need help with on the job.

    3. High School diploma or GED certificate.


    Performance Responsibilities:

    1. Assists the maintenance personnel as needed while they perform their duties.

    2. The position will entail general cleaning, lifting, possible lawn care, minor building maintenance and repair, generally associated with custodial work. 

    3. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as unlocking doors at designated times and locking doors after operating hours.

    4. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and individuals.

    5. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

    6. Assist building personnel with daily needs including lunchroom set up/take down/clean up along with daily activity/event preparations.   

    7. Assist staff and visiting public in utilizing school facilities with directions within the building or in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.

    8. Other duties as assigned or requested
