    Job Description
    Seeking two part-time individuals looking to work between 10-30 hours per week. Available work days include Tuesday - Friday. Work day is typically a 10 hour shift starting at 8am. Pay is $12/hour. 

    Position Summary:
    Engages in the pick-up of materials donated to the Restore while providing high quality customer service, and facilitates warehouse operations in coordination with ReStore management. The Warehouse and Fleet Operator must be able to implement a daily schedule of pick-ups throughout Charlevoix and Emmet counties. The Warehouse and Fleet Operator will respect confidentiality, while interacting respectfully to all donor families.The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items, thereby providing support for both the operating budget and the HFH mission to build safe and affordable housing for people in need.

    Education and Experience: 
    • Valid State of Michigan License and a good driving record required
    • Chauffeur’s license preferred.
    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., stand, squat, bend, and climb in/out of truck on a regular basis
    • Knowledge of furniture moving techniques preferred
    • Experience driving a box truck preferred
    • Interest in working with a fast-paced nonprofit making a difference in our community
    • Retail, service, and/or moving experience helpful
     Position Requirements: 
    Must be self-motivated, dependable, collaborative, reliable and enthusiastic. Must possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to handle and defuse challenging situations with tact. Must be committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
    • ReStore donation pickups as outlined in weekly pick-up schedules
    • Effectively communicating with donors, staff and volunteers to coordinate pickups on a timely basis, while participating in planned staff meetings and occasional events when requested.
    • Marking pickup items, hold items, or items in warehouse in a manner which communicates the use of the item within the affiliate, i.e. for sale, on hold, for use on jobsite, etc.
    • Maintain donor records in a confidential and accurate manner, completing and turning in forms for processing on a timely basis.
    • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, friendliness and helpfulness to donors, team members, ReStore customers and Habitat program partners. 
    • Practices good time organization and routing skills to facilitate fast donation pickups; seeks assistance from other staff when workload increases beyond time capacity
    • Is knowledgeable of and follows donation selection criteria for acceptance of donations. Communicates and trains volunteers or other staff in donation selection criteria.
    • Implementation of appropriate driving and warehouse safety standards; is aware of MIOSHA or other regulations concerning the use of commercial trucks for business.
    • Helps to maintain organization and cleanliness in the ReStore
    • Maintains driving, pickup or other logs relative to the position or duties of the driver, as requested.
    • Complies with published or directed policies of the Affiliate
    • Represents the Affiliate in a manner which promotes the mission and presents Affiliate strategic objectives in a positive light
    • Utilizes affiliate resources wisely and strives to eliminate waste and promote recycling
    • Acts as an Ambassador for the mission of Habitat for Humanity
    • Other assignments as given by supervisor
    Other Requirements: 
    • Must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and the ability to multi-task.
    • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
    • Must be able to deal with all kinds of individuals and remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Will also experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion. 
    • Due to the nature of the affiliate operations, all affiliate positions may be subject to credit, background or drug use random checks.
