Pop Up Art Show features work of adults and students with disabilities
The public is invited to a “pop up” exhibition and sale of artwork sponsored by North Country Community Mental Health and Intermediate School District students at Create: Community Arts Studio (CCAS) in Boyne City (151 Ray St.) on Friday, July 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. There is no entrance fee to attend.
Julie Moran, one of the event organizers, encourages community members to attend and view the artwork of some very talented people. “This will be a great opportunity to see some amazing work and perhaps purchase a piece of local art. This pop up show provides the venue to highlight their talent. It’s empowering for the artists who participate,” Moran said. “We appreciate the special, ongoing support of Create: Community Arts Studio in bringing this to the community.”
Sara Manchester, founder of CCAS, said, “We are thrilled to support the talented artists and dedicated organizations that have come together for this show. Our studio believes art is important and art is for everyone. We are happy to host Art Speaks in the studio again this summer.”
Art Speaks’ goal is to continue the trend in Northern Michigan of making resources, space and classes available to people that otherwise might not have the opportunity to show and enhance their talent.
