The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) presents Rite of Spring | Havana Nights Thurs. July 17 at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts. Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring shocked the world at its 1913 Paris premiere, sparking a riot with its groundbreaking music and radical dance. Now, GLCO and DEOS Contemporary Ballet bring this legendary work to life with a newly commissioned world-premiere choreography, created exclusively for northern Michigan audiences. The evening continues with high-energy summer Latin rhythms including Bernstein’s Mambo from West Side Story. Tickets from $35 - $65 are available at www.glcorchestra.org.
