The Friends of the Boyne River created the Boyne River Nature Area to highlight the importance of a wetland to the health of a river. The Nature Area has turned out to be a lovey walk in the woods, a good lunch spot and access to the river for wading and fishing. The part that is missing is educational signage explaining the benefits of a wetland such as how a wetland helps a river to be healthy, how the wetland helps with flooding and what plants and animals live in a wetland. We will be using donations to help with this signage project. Click here to learn about how to donate.

This summer The Lake Charlevoix Association commissioned a survey of the entire shoreline of Lake Charlevoix.  The survey was conducted both by summer interns in kayaks and by drone photography with the goal of identifying problem areas such as erosion and significant nutrient loading as well as assessing greenbelt quality. Over this winter the data generated by the surveys will be analyzed. Donations to support this project can be made by clicking this link

Time is love, above all else. It is the most precious commodity in the world and should be lavished on those we care most about.  – Sydney J. Harris
These words ring true, especially to those served by Hospice of Northwest Michigan. We could use other partners in our mission. People who can share their resources to help facilitate unfunded needs that patients and families may face. A donation in any amount will support this heartbreaking but vital work. Time is love. Time is precious. Gifts are great, but some folks would choose presence over presents. For them, maybe plan to spend time in the new year together and use the money instead to sponsor ‘wish list’ items. The moments and memories you create will be more treasured than any gift; the donation, delivered through the hands of the Hospice of Northwest Michigan team, will help families in crisis realize that time is love. Go to: www.hospicenwm.org/time-is-love to make a donation.
