This newly commissioned piece was inspired by the birth of Lockington’s granddaughter, Violet, and features GLCO Music Director Libor Ondras playing viola and David Lockington conducting. The Violet Viola Concerto was commissioned through a generous gift from Dr. Robert and Alice Pattengale. The Ginastea Variations express an Argentinian flare, using an original theme with eleven variations, each one reflecting the distinctive character of the instrument featured.
