Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra presents its popular annual performance of Handel’s Messiah at 7 p.m. on both Thursday, Dec. 16, and Friday, Dec. 17 at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts, 800 Bay Harbor Dr., Petoskey. The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra Chorus, led by Director André Strydom, will join the orchestra led by GLCO Conductor and Music Director Libor Ondras. The concert includes portions of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “The Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248” and George Frideric Handel’s famous “Messiah” oratorio. Each event will feature pre- and post-concert receptions, featuring a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and other light refreshments. The pre-concert receptions begin at 6 p.m. each night.
