    Event Description:
    Fantastic food, fabulous cars, fine wine and fun will be served up at the Garden Party to be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Harris Gardens at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey. The event will provide scholarships for students enrolled in North Central’s CNC (Computer Numerical Controls) Machining program.
    This 300-guest wine and food gala will feature exceptional regional cuisine prepared by the area’s finest restaurants, paired with extraordinary wine featured and distributed by Great Lakes Wine and Spirits. In addition, there will be a display of classic cars.
    Last year, the event raised more than $58,000 in scholarships for students enrolled in North Central’s Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) program. These dollars covered the tuition, fees and books for 76 students enrolled in the Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 semesters.
    Tickets for The Garden Party are $150 per person. Attire is traditional Garden Party chic. The hosts request that ladies wear hats. Guests must be 18 to attend. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.thegardenpartymichigan.org.
    Participating restaurants include Barrel Back, four Boyne USA restaurants, four Stafford’s Hospitality restaurants, Chandler’s – A Restaurant, City Park Grill, Crow’s Nest Restaurant, Hidden River Golf and Casting Club, Iron Horse Café, Mitchell Street Pub, Palette Bistro, Petoskey-Bay View Country Club, Pierson’s Grill, The Fish, Walloon Lake Inn, and many more!
    The Garden Party is presented by Great Lakes Wine and Spirits, Charity Motors, MP Tool and Engineering, Pier and Renee Borra, Ted and Brenda Frey, Paul and Melissa Keiswetter, plus many others.
    North Central Michigan College is an open-door community college based in Petoskey, with additional locations offering classes and services in Cheboygan and Gaylord. North Central’s mission is to provide educational, economic and cultural opportunities for student learning, personal growth and community improvement.  North Central is an Achieving the Dream Leader College and a Military-Friendly® and Veteran Friendly School.
    The Garden Party Foundation was founded by Elizabeth and Sydney L. Ross. The Garden Party event was initiated and is maintained by The J. Lewis Cooper family and Elizabeth and Sydney L. Ross Foundation. The purpose of The Garden Party is to create a pleasant Sunday afternoon that is pleasing to the eye, the palate, and for its charitable aspect – pleasing to the soul. The Garden Party Foundation’s mission is to support multiple local charities and use money raised to support Michigan causes. The foundation also aims to make The Garden Party the finest and most prominent food and wine event in the state.
