St. Michael Academy Presents The Tempest
PETOSKEY – May 2, 2021 – St. Michael Academy (SMA), Northern Michigan’s only Classical Catholic high school, is proud to present The Tempest by Shakespeare (abridged), at Crooked Tree Arts Center (CTAC) on May 14th at 7pm and May 15th at 3pm. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children, and $10 for a family.
Building on the success of The Importance of Being Ernest, the SMA Drama Club and drama students, are excited to share their hard work. Come sail away to a tropical island and be a part of Shakespeare’s mischief.
The Tempest is suitable for all ages. Set on a magical island, a king and his entourage are shipwrecked. The inhabitants of the island: a sorceress and her daughter, sprites and a creature named Caliban are not what they seem…
The production has benefited from the participation of the SMA student body — on stage, backstage, and in production management roles such as assistant directing, marketing and tech. We are also grateful for the community participation helping with costumes and set pieces.
The students of SMA cordially invite you to share the fun with them as they as they explore this magical isle and discover the meaning of forgiveness. Friday 14th of May at 7:00 pm and Saturday 15th of May at 3:00 pm at the Crooked Tree Arts Center, Ross Stoakes Theatre, located at 461 East Mitchell Street in downtown Petoskey.
Established in 2013, SMA is the first Catholic high school in the Little Traverse area since 1972, and Northern Michigan’s only high school offering a Classical Curriculum. SMA strives to develop the whole person, cultivating academic, moral, and all-around excellence in its students, from within a caring and attentive environment.
