THE ROUGH & TUMBLE The Rough & Tumble aren’t casual road dogs, but they aren’t letting on, either. Since 2011, this dumpster-folk/thriftstore Americana duo’s upbeat, commanding stage presence and sharp banter, earworm-inducing melodies and heartstring lyrics have been making friends of strangers across the four corners of the United States. Since hitting the road full time in 2015 after a bad landlord left them freezing in a Nashville ice storm, The Rough & Tumble (Mallory Graham & Scott Tyler) have been defying genre stereotypes and embracing the rambling life with their multi-instrumentation, meandering shenanigans, and genuine songwriting– all packed into a 16’ camper with two 100lb rescue dogs Their most recent album, 2019’s Howling Back at the Wounded Dog was met with an enthusiastic response from fans and critics alike, engaging audiences who are literally howling back coast-to-coast. The opening track, “The Hardest Part,” was judged Americana Song of the year by the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
