    Job Description

    Crooked Tree Arts Center – Petoskey is currently accepting class and workshop proposals for our kids summer camps. We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, and reliable instructors to lead one-week workshops for children during the summer season.

    Position Overview
    Summer Camp Workshop Teachers design and lead engaging, age-appropriate arts workshops for children in a supportive and inspiring learning environment. Workshops are typically offered for students in grades K–3 or 4–6. Each workshop runs for one week, and instructors may apply to teach one or multiple weeks, based on availability and interest.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and submit a clear, creative workshop proposal outlining learning goals, activities, and materials

    • Plan and teach daily classes that encourage creativity, skill development, and self-expression

    • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment for children of varying skill levels

    • Manage classroom behavior in a respectful and age-appropriate manner

    • Prepare materials and maintain an organized workspace

    • Communicate clearly with Crooked Tree staff regarding schedules, needs, and class outcomes

    • Support setup and cleanup of the classroom and materials as needed

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience teaching children in an arts, educational, or camp setting

    • Strong skills in a visual, performing, or literary art form (all disciplines encouraged to apply)

    • Ability to design engaging, hands-on projects suitable for specific age groups

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    • Enthusiasm for working with children and fostering creativity

    • Reliability and ability to commit to a full one-week teaching schedule

    Commitment & Schedule

    • One-week teaching commitments (typically Monday–Friday; June through August)

    • Multiple weeks may be available for interested instructors

    • Exact dates, times, and age groups will be coordinated with Crooked Tree staff

    Compensation

    • Compensation is provided for each week taught and will be discussed upon proposal acceptance
