A CALL FOR CAPTAINS!
Camp Quality needs you and your boat for five hours during Boyne Thunder on Saturday, July 13, 2024, for a champagne cruise. Enjoy a day in the sun, with all refreshments and food provided while supporting a local charity. Guests donating $200 each to Camp Quality will be invited onto your boat for a leisurely cruise of Lake Charlevoix and will enjoy a raft off with a front-row “seat” to the last card pick-up of the Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Horton Bay. Camp Quality provides children with cancer and their family's year-round programs, experiences, and companionship.
Boyne Thunder provides us an opportunity to support Camp Quality, serving the needs of children with cancer. Over the last 10+ years, this event has generated more than $500,000 for the charity and an economic impact to our area in excess of over $2,000,000. The event is designed so all expenses associated with the poker run are paid from the entry fees. Net proceeds from the poker run and all other events, including our cruise, benefit Camp Quality directly. We are very proud that the Champagne Cruise portion of the event has been a major contributor to that success each year.
Poker Run participants will leave their docks at 10:00 am on Saturday and, after a parade lap, will head down the lake for their high-speed romp around a course including Elk Rapids & Northport, a stop for lunch in Charlevoix, and then on to Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor, and Horton Bay. We ask that all of your guests be at your boats around 11:30 a.m.
Your boat will be provided with “traveling provisions” of food and beverages prior to departure. Coolers and food will be delivered to your dock that morning after 11am. Coolers will be furnished stocked with white wine, beer, soda, and water.
